The German Ambassador and the Minister of Rural Development, H.E. Dr. Ouk Rabun, inaugurated a new road in Kratie province on 28 February 2018. The newly constructed 11.2 km road (and a 20m bridge) is co-financed by the German Government and the Royal Government of Cambodia. It was implemented by the German Development Bank KfW together with the Rural Development Ministry.
Khbal Chour village where the new road was constructed has almost been cut off from the town during the rainy season. Thus, making it hard for the people to access the market, public services, health care and education. The German Ambassador, Dr. Ingo Karsten said, “Germany is not the only development partner supporting Cambodia in constructing infrastructure. But a special feature of our support is our focus on remote rural areas”. (See speech at the following link…)
