Do you need a visa to enter Germany? If so, how does the application procedure work?

Cambodian nationals need a visa to enter Germany.
Citizens of EU member states and certain other countries are exempt from this requirement. You can check here whether a visa is required for your nationality.
If you do need a visa, it’s important to determine which type applies to your situation. There are two main visa categories:
Schengen visa or national visa?
The type of visa you need depends on how long you plan to stay.
If you’re planning a short stay in Germany of up to 90 days — for example, for tourism, a business trip, a visit, or medical treatment — you’ll need to apply for a Schengen visa.
If you plan to stay for more than 90 days — for example, to study or join your family — you must apply for a national visa.

This also includes applications submitted by family members of non-German EU citizens applying under the EU Freedom of Movement Act. The final decision on any visa application, however, rests solely with the visa section of the German Embassy in Phnom Penh.
