Ambassador Stefan Messerer paid a courtesy visit to Samdech Hun Sen Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia
On Monday 10 October 2022, Ambassador Stefan Messerer paid a courtesy visit to Samdech Hun Sen Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia at the Peace Palace. Ambassador Messerer expressed his gratitude to Cambodia for its supportive stance at the United Nations General Assembly resolutions and Samdech Prime Minister’s personal stance against Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and the annexation of territories by Russia, as well as Samdech Hun Sen’s clear condemnation of North Korea’s missile tests threatening Japan. Ambassador Messerer and Samdech Hun Sen also discussed the recent communal election this year and the upcoming general election next year. Ambassador Messerer said that in his first 7 weeks in the country, he is impressed with the development of the Kingdom of Cambodia and delighted that Germany is a longstanding partner in the journey of Cambodia’s development. Ambassador Messerer committed to fostering the relations between the two countries, including boosting German investments in Cambodia.
